May 23, 2011 Back at it!
This weekend, I tackled the rt frt quarter section. Although the outer piece fit quite well, the inner piece that has the hole for the torsion bar needed many alterations to make it workable. In the end, I was able to make it work, but it is frustrating having to take a new piece and cut and weld it to make it work. I also had to fabricate a piece to fill in a hole that joins the floor and the inner wheel well. I spent quite a bit of time fitting the outer quarter piece so that I could do a butt weld using the oxy-acetylene torch, and hammer weld the joint. I used the mig for one small section where I didn't have access at the back. I haven't done any oxy-acetylene welding for some years, so it took a while to get back in the groove.
